Many of us have been taught that resilience means pushing through, staying strong, and not showing weakness. We carry stress without releasing it. We say yes when we mean no. We internalise pressure until it shows up as exhaustion, irritability, or disconnection.

The problem is not that we are not resilient enough. It is that we have been relying on a narrow definition of resilience that leaves out the most important element: self-understanding. Without awareness of our emotional patterns, triggers, and needs, we end up reacting rather than responding, and the same struggles keep repeating.
